It's a boy! Andrew Stewart Carver was born after four hours of labor at 1:47 p.m., January 26, 2011. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long; the doctor declared him to be "dense." (Our future football player!) When I felt the urge to push, the nurse paged the doctor at his office on the other side of the parking lot. A few agonizing minutes later during which the mean nurse wouldn't let me push, the doctor ran in, called out for gloves which a ready nurse put on his hands, and caught the baby. He barely made it in time to catch all of Andrew who came in one big, long push. Praise God for a healthy, normal baby, "fearfully and wonderfully made!"
